The Ninomiya Family’s Rose & Japanese Garden

We are open in public every year from the middle of May for about 4 weeks.

The gardens are owned by The Ninomiya Family and opened to the public during the most beautiful season of the year.  You can enjoy a variety of the roses and also serenity of 150 year old typical Japanese garden in the 10,000 square meters premises.

The rose garden designed by Mrs. Yoko Ninomiya is taken care of her staffs.
There are 400 kinds of roses as well as other flowers matching with them.
Particularly you will notice the rambling roses on the arches and the pergolas and even the Peter Rabbit Quarter.

The Japanese Garden was designed by a famous gardener of the domain of Shibata 150 years ago. It has good combination of the trees such as pine tree, maple tree, azalea and even “turtle shell bamboo” etc.
The old lanterns on the moss make it more attractive. The big pond or lagoon (called “Bentengata”) which adjoins to the garden makes it look wider and profounder.
You will find yourself at the cozy picture taking spots.
